Job Opportunity: Communications Manager

Improvised Music Company (IMC) is currently developing and implementing a suite of exciting new events, artist opportunities, and professional development initiatives, and is seeking a Communications Manager to join our team. Working with the Marketing Director and General Manager to develop and implement communications strategy in areas including social media, PR, industry communications etc, this is a part-time role (3 days per week), largely working-from-home but with allowance for regular meetings in Dublin and working on-site at events.

IMC is a not-for-profit resource and promotions company for jazz and creative improvised music in Ireland. We operate across a wide range of areas, from locally-based artist development programmes to major pan-European festivals, with public-facing and artist-facing programmes of activity, including many events which are key dates in the Irish and European arts calendars. Working with peers including Europe Jazz Network, Music Alliance Ireland, and Irish Jazz Forum, we are at the forefront of creative improvised music in Ireland, working with artists in genres from cutting-edge contemporary jazz to rich traditions of world music, and including community and youth-focused arts.

A role with IMC is ideal for persons with a passion for music, strong practical skills and a willingness to develop and learn in a variety of circumstances. As part of a small team, you will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced colleagues and peers, and to lead on a variety of projects. Working with IMC is an opportunity to engage with and support a dynamic area of the Irish arts scene into its best possible future.
