Once-in-a-lifetime live concert recording from ZASKA

IMC and Triskel Arts are delighted to announce a once-in-a-lifetime live concert recording as part of WRITE RECORD PERFORM in 2023.

Taking place at Triskel in Cork on Friday 15th September, the performance is both the PERFORM and RECORD sections of Triskel and IMC's WRITE RECORD PERFORM in 2023, and the culmination of many months of writing and collaborating.

Max Zaska and his band, a.k.a. ZASKA, join with collaborators Gemma Dunleavy, shiv, Melina Malone, and jarjarjr for an exclusive world premiere of new music. Their exciting new project is grounded in jazz and blended with soul, R&B, hip-hop, and pop. This once-in-a-lifetime live concert will be recorded for a future audio and video release.

Collaboration is at the very heart of ZASKA’s music. This project began in writing sessions with Gemma Dunleavy, shiv, and Melina Malone in Paris in 2022. The addition of jarjarjr to the project this year takes ZASKA’s work in new directions, capturing the spark and sound of each of these up-and-coming artists.

Max Zaska was selected as the winner of Triskel and IMC's first collaborative WRITE RECORD PERFORM programme focused on jazz and improvised music - a programme which allows a professional musician working in jazz or creative improvised music dedicated time, space and budget to develop a new musical concept in a holistic way.
