Carolyn Goodwin Quintet

If the vocal tradition is your favoured aspect of the jazz continuum, then the Cork scene has a treat in store for you. Equally at home in the saxophone section of The Cork School of Music Big Band, Carolyn Goodwin is also its featured vocalist, a suitable platform for her Ella and Sassy derived approach.

Interpretations of Broadway, Ellingtonia and Mingus standards are the foil for this small group context, which features another Cork voice to watch in tenor saxophonist Karl Rooney, with pianist Derek Cremin and the Leeside rhythm section of bassist Chris McCarthy and drummer Fionn O’Ceallachain.
