IMC is a resource for Irish Jazz and Irish Jazz musicians.
Find out more about some of our programmes:
Our monthly Jazz Connector online meet-ups are free to attend and offer advice on continuing professional development from key guest speakers, covering topics from dealing with arts centres, to receiving royalties to making funding applications. It’s also an opportunity for all the communities of people who make up the jazz world in Ireland - musicians, promoters, educators and venues - to come together for informal chats to discuss ongoing issues in the scene. Check What’s Happening (link to What’s Happening page) to see the details of the next Jazz Connector, and you can read talking points from previous sessions in our Resources.
If you'd like to see a particular topic covered, drop us an email at production [at] improvisedmusic [dot] ie, with the subject line Jazz Connector.
Improvised Music Company (IMC) was founded by Irish jazz musicians and supporters in 1991. Today we actively support and promote the Irish jazz scene in every aspect of our work, and have a hands-on involvement in many aspects of music making throughout the island, including festival programming, concert promotion, touring, education and audience development.
Read an article about IMC in the Irish Times on the occasion of our 25th anniversary.
We have a large collection of posters and promotional material from many years of Irish jazz. Explore posters from the last 20 years in our gallery or get in touch with us at hello@improvisedmusic.ie if you would like to explore further material.
