Jazz in the Park
IMC are delighted to work with Dublin City Council in presenting Jazz in The Park in Mellowes Park, FInglas at lunchtime on Thursday 29th June.
Audiences can look forward to the feelgood New Orleans-style grooves of Toot Sweet & the Shadowman as they enjoy their picnic lunch.
Toot Sweet & The Shadow Man is an 8-piece New Orleans-style funk band, founded in 2012 by acclaimed Irish jazz pianist Cian Boylan. Making up the core of the band are the amazing John “Buzz” Wilde (drums and vocals), the legendary Conor Brady (guitar), the spectacular vocalist Cormac Kenevey (percussion and vocals), with Dan Bodwell holding down down the groove (double bass), and Cian (piano, hammond organ and vocal). Toot Sweet & The Shadow Man invokes the music of the Big Easy featuring songs by Dr John, Rebirth Brass Band, Professor Longhair, and Originals. A sensational live outfit, with swampy hammond grooves and rolling piano licks, deep- in-the-pocket guitar, a take-no-prisoners horn section, and an enviable rhythm section, Toot Sweet’s focus is on spreading this music to the masses.
