The Signal Series is a live monthly double-header concert series from IMC presenting the best emerging and established jazz acts from across Ireland. Part of IMC’s commitment to celebrating Irish-based jazz talent in 2019, the Signal Series takes place in Dublin’s newest live music venue, The Wild Duck, in Temple Bar on the last Tuesday of each month.

ReDiviDeR was established by drummer Matthew Jacobson in 2007 as a creative outlet for his compositions as well as his somewhat perverse fascination with anagrams. While he failed to find such avid fellow followers of wordplays, he did find and enlist the help of improv and rhythmic specialists Derek Whyte (bass), Nick Roth (alto sax) and trombonist Colm O'Hara. The band play all original compositions from Jacobson ("a European jazz artist of growing charisma" - the Guardian) with influences as diverse as Charles Mingus, the Books, Deerhoof and Tim Berne. The formula for putting all this together in one palindromic setting is downtown grooves with catchy riffs and collective improvs.

Aoife Doyle’s unique, expressive voice is equally at home with jazz, folk, country, bluegrass or blues, and her singing can evoke memories of the sophisticated, velvet tones of Ella Fitzgerald, the earthy, sweet lyricism of Patsy Cline or the straight-up country clarity of Alison Krauss. Backed by subtle piano, inventive bass and sensitive percussion, the band has won much deserved critical acclaim.

Please Note: There is some but not complete seating available in this venue. Seating will be allocated on a first-come, first served basis.
